Event honors advocates for kids

The Alliance of Summit County Child Caring Providers will host a breakfast to honor 10 local workers.
The event will be from 7 to 9 a.m. April 4 at the Radisson Hotel, 20 W. Mill St., Akron.The alliance is made up of 26 groups that provide contracted foster care and substance-abuse and mental-health treatment.
Honorees are: Darlene Neff, social worker, Summit County Children Services; Gary Nagy, social worker, children services; Linda Gray, auxiliary worker, children services; Heidi Huscroft, auxiliary worker, children services; Steven Tunstall, social worker, Alliance Human Services/Ohio Mentor Inc.; Christine Mastran, lawyer, Summit County Prosecutor's Office; Sgt. Michael Rinn, Akron police; Capt. Hylton Baker, Summit County Sheriff's Office; Iris Meltzer, executive director, Center for Adolescent Health, Akron Children's Hospital; and Linda Bennett, lawyer, court-appointed volunteer, Summit County Juvenile Court.
