Press Release from Rahab’s Hideaway

Columbus, Ohio/November 19, 2013- BREAKING NEWS: Rahab’s Hideaway receives Group Home Licensure! The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) approved licensure application for Rahab’s Hideaway- a 10-bed Group Home for Domestic Minor Sex Trafficked Victims and Runaway Girls. NISRE, Inc., the parent company of Rahab’s Hideaway was notified by ODJFS on November 14, 2013 that the application for Rahab’s Hideaway was approved for full licensure.

This is a dream come true for Rahab’s Hideaway Founder, Marlene Carson, who is a survivor of human trafficking and an advocate who brings education and awareness to the community while comforting, supporting and providing hope to other victims of domestic minor sex trafficking. Carson started Rahab’s Hideaway in 2008 with the dream to one day develop appropriate responses to meet the needs of those who have become victims of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking; including, but not limited to, the development of a model facility that can provide refuge and facilitate recovery. Such a facility could meet the needs of our community and provide a template, which if followed by others could extend the benefits of our good efforts across our country and around the world. That dream as now become a reality.

Michele Johnson, Founder and CEO of NISRE Inc., recently expanded its agency mission into combating sexual trafficking by providing housing solutions for victims and at risk youth by joining forces with Marlene Carson and bringing Rahab’s Hideaway on board as a program under its parent company. NISRE, Inc. is a faith based, non profit housing organization that is licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections (ODRC) and operate Community Residential Centers in 5 Ohio cities including Columbus, Akron, Mansfield, Cincinnati and Chillicothe. It is the plan of NISRE, Inc. to expand Rahab’s Hideaway in all of the cities where NISRE, Inc. currently operates.

The newly licensed home is now accepting referrals from all Public Children’s Services agencies in Ohio. For information on how to make a referral, please contact us at info@nisreinc.org.
