Earlier today, State Rep. Todd Snitchler introduced HB 416, which will waive multiple state fees for former foster youth who are under age 22. Fees for birth records, state identification cards, temporary instruction permits, driver's licenses, motorcycle operator's endorsements, and motorized bicycle licenses will be waived. The legislation will make the process of obtaining birth certificates and state IDs for emancipated and emancipating foster youth easier for custodial and private agencies, as the fees will be waived.
Rep. Snitchler is an attorney from Uniontown, Ohio who is currently serving his first term in the House of Representatives.
