Cincinnati Enquirer, Feb. 2, 2007, pg. B1.

COVINGTON -A speaker series for parents designed to build safer communities for stronger families returns to John G. Carlisle School, 910 Holman St., starting Wednesday. The series will run 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays in February and March. Dinner and child care will be provided

Topics include techniques for disciplining your children without screaming or scolding, how to manage anger in the most frustrating situations and preventing shaken baby, which spotlights the tragic story of Elijah, a small boy shaken to death by his father.

The Department for Community Based Services will hold a question and answer session so that parents can better understand the child welfare system and its efforts in their community.

Door prizes will be given away at each meeting, and incentives will be offered to families who attend seven out of eight evenings and complete series evaluations.

For information, contact Lisa Ross at Brighton Center, 859-491-8303, ext. 2411. The speaker series is funded by Insuring the Children.
